Description
Chegwyn Farms Neighborhood Park is located in a quiet suburban neighborhood in McMinnville, Oregon. The playground is expansive and impressive in size. This playground is a great asset to the community.
Features
This playground has a bathroom, water fountains, a covered seating area with picnic tables, paved pathways, a sizeable field, trash cans, swings, 2.5 slides, 2 tic tac toe games, basketball, and bike racks. The aspect of this playground that was most impressive to our team was the dual-play structure, one for younger children, and one for older children.
Location
The location is fantastic as it is located in the center of the neighborhood and it is right across the street from a school. The playground is a bit out of the way for anyone visiting McMinnville but it is worth the trip and a great asset to the community.

This playground had no lights which brings up a safety concern for children playing in the evening or nighttime hours. We felt that given the size and location of the park, the bike rack structure was not robust enough. The playground for the older children did not include a tunnel, we felt that the playground structures were impressive in the verticle space they took up but the width of the structures does not allow for much exploration, lastly, the swing set on the park does not fit our golden swing set ratio (6 regular swings : 4 baby swings) the swing set was not far behind though with a ratio of (4:2). The playground still earned a point for the swings category as any swing on a playground earns a point but it did not receive the potential bonus point. The playground however did receive bonus points for the impressive number of slides.

This is an excellent and well-deserved score! With a few adjustments, this park could've easily earned a green-check. Although this park did not quite receive green-check status it did earn a spot on our personal favorites list!
